On Saturday, June 15, 2019, the Minister for Education Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh joined the ladies and staff of the Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) College of Education in Cape Coast in celebration of their 12th annual congregation.

Mavis Owusu-Gyamfi was adjudged the overall best graduating student out of 384 graduating students. The praise of her hard work towards her academic goals coupled with her self-motivated approach to problem solving and leadership served as key lessons to her colleagues.

As one of the premier all female Colleges of Education in Ghana and west Africa, he challenged the teaching staff of OLA to embed in their trainees, pedagogical skills fit for the 21st century and to focus on training more early childhood education teachers.

The Ministry of Education is committed to ensuring that teachers receive the best training to prepare them especially for the reforms taking place in the sector and to instruct accordingly.

He wished the latest graduates all the best and hope they go out to change the world, one child at a time.
