Education Ministry sympathizes with authorities and students
The Ministry of Education wishes to sympathize with the authorities and students of the St. Charles Minor Seminary and Senior High School in Tamale following a fire outbreak that destroyed a two-storey dormitory, accommodating 503 students.
It is sad to learn that the affected students lost all their belongings including books in the building except those who were able to salvage some few items from their rooms.
This unfortunate incident happened at a time 228 final-year students had begun their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), the day before.
It is in the light of the above that the ministry appeals to the authorities of the school to urgently readjust the time table to enable the affected final-year students to make amends and prepare for their examinations.
The ministry also wishes to appeal to benevolent organizations and individuals to assist the school to provide accommodation, mattresses and clothing for the affected students.
