GES Signs MoU With SIC LIFE To Insure All GES Employees
The Ghana Education Service (GES) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the SIC Life Company Ltd to cover all employees of the service.
At a short ceremony at the GES, the Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh stated that President Akufo-Addo’s view was that it was important to grow the economy to be able to offer realistic incentives to teachers, who actually make a nation by training citizens to be productive for the nation and the economy. He further charged the SIC Life Company Ltd to ensure it offered an excellent customer service and to treat GES workers with respect. It was on this basis that government decided to insure all GES workers to cover death, injury and serious illnesses.
Hon. Dr. Prempeh witnessed the MoU, together with representatives of the various teacher unions, who expressed delight at the level of positive collaboration between the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service and the unions.
Mr. Elizabeth Wyns-Dogbe, Managing Director of SIC Life, represented the company in exchanging copies of the MoU with Mrs. Okai, Director of Basic Education of the Ghana Education Service.
