The Minister of State in charge of Tertiary Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah is currently in Nairobi, Kenya, participating in the Regional Universities Forum, popularly known as RUFORUM.

The Minister of State in charge of Tertiary Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah is currently in Nairobi, Kenya, participating in the Regional Universities Forum, popularly known as RUFORUM.

At a round table ministerial meeting held at the University Of Nairobi on Tuesday morning, Prof. Yankah stated Ghana’s continued commitment and effort to improving access to and quality of tertiary education through various interventions.

The Minister of State explained government’s proactiveness to deal with the projected influx of students into tertiary institutions in 2020 due to the successful roll out of Free SHS policy, which has increased access to senior high schools. These include; expansion projects at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, the establishment of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development as well as re-tooling and expansion of some technical universities.

The Minister will sit in a panel on Wednesday to discuss investments Ghana has made and continues to make to improve tertiary education.
