The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has formally launched the Ghana Accountability Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP) at the Jubilee House, Accra.<\/span>
\u00a0<\/span>
The $218.7m project is jointly funded by the World Bank, Department for International Development (DfID) and Global Partnerships for Education (GPE).\u00a0It is a 5-year results-based financing project, with disbursement of project funds to the Ministry of Education being contingent on the achievement of pre-determined results.<\/span>
\u00a0<\/span>
GALOP\u2019s objective is to \u2018<\/span>improve the quality of education in low performing basic education schools and strengthen education sector<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>equity and accountability in Ghana.<\/em>\u2019 The project is targeted at the 10,000 least performing Basic Schools (Kindergarten, Primary and Junior High Schools) across the country as well as all special schools with direct interventions.<\/span>
\u00a0<\/span>
GALOP aims to support the Ministry of Education\u2019s Education Strategic Plan (ESP 2018-2030), which has quality, access, equity, sustainability and relevance, as its key priority areas in order to provide equitable access to quality basic education to all Ghanaian children.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n \t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
