STELLA GYIMAAH LARBI ADJUDGED OVERALL BEST TEACHER FOR 2022

Ms. Stella Gyimaah Larbi, who teaches at the Adenta Community Junior High School has emerged as the overall national best teacher for 2022.
She received the award at the Ghana Teacher Prize ceremony held at the University of Development Studies, Tamale. For her prize, she was given a three-bedroom house worth ¢300,000 for being the most outstanding teacher for 2022.
“Being here as the most outstanding teacher is as a result of the little good I put together…Thank you to all teachers who came before me, especially my father, Francis Larbi, my Literature in English teacher, Awo Dede, my favourite JHS teacher, and thank you to my students who keep making me better,” she said.
Ms. Larbi also expressed gratitude to her students, colleague teachers and all persons who contributed to her achievement.
Madam Fati Issifu of Buipe Girls Model School in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region was adjudged the first runner-up and took home a brand new pickup, whilst Mr David Harrison Mensah of Sefwi Benkwai SDA went home with a saloon car as second runner up.
H.E. the Vice-President, Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia speaking on theme said this was in line with the government’s education transformation agenda, adding that no nation in the world had developed without a conscious investment in their education system and teachers.
The awards were presented by the National Teachers Council with support from the Ministry of Education. Other winners were presented with cars and cash prizes. Overall, there were 23 finalists for the various categories of awards.
Present were the Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum; the Deputy Education Minister, Rev. Ntim Fordjour and Northern Regional Minister, Shani Alhassan Saibu. #END#
