This morning, I visited students of the St. Mary’s R/C Basic School at Korle Gonno. This school was where I observed last year’s National Tree Planting event. I promised to visit the students again and I am excited I was able to fulfill the promise today. I shared John Sackey and Lawrence Darmani’s ‘The Cockcrow’ to each of the Junior High School students. My favorite session of my visit was when I led the students through a reading and comprehension session. I also took them through a Mathematics lesson. Before I left, I shared my personal story with the students and encouraged them in their studies. I was particularly impressed to meet Mrs. Grace Frempong, a parent who came to pay a routine visit to her grandchild’s class teacher. I hope more parents like Mrs. Frempong visit their children in school and motivate the teachers who teach their children. I also commended the teachers and leadership of the school for their great work.
