In an effort to address environmental concerns and promote sustainability in education, I attended the Greening Education Partnership meeting hosted by UNESCO at the ongoing Education World Forum in the United Kingdom – UK.
The meeting brought together global leaders, educators, policy makers and environmental experts to discuss the role of education in tackling climate change and promoting sustainable development.
The first day of the meeting emphasized the importance of educating young people about environmental issues and the need to incorporate sustainability into school curricula.
I also attended an exhibition display that featured a wide range of projects and ideas that address climate change through various educational approaches.
It is of no doubt that education has a major role in creating a generation of environmentally conscious citizens who are committed to preserving the planet for future generations.
Also present at the meeting were Agency heads of the Ministry including Ghana Education Service – GES, Free Senior High School – FSHS, Technical and Vocational Education Training – TVET Services and National Council for Curriculum Assessment – NaCCA.
