Ensuring the quality of education and the well-being of students and teachers took me to some schools in the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region of Ghana on 23rd June 2023.
Accompanied by a team of education officials and Heads of Agencies of the Ministry, I visited the Gyaase SHS, Assin State College and Assin North SHTS to assess various aspects of the schools including infrastructure, teaching methodologies and student engagement.
He took the opportunity to encourage students and motivate them to strive for academic excellence and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring a high-quality education for all students.
He also convened a meeting with groups of teachers from various schools in the Assin North and Assin Central Constituencies.
This session served as a platform for teachers to express their experiences, ideas and concerns related to curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, resources and professional development.
He actively listened to their insights and sought recommendations for policy improvements through a brief question-and-answer session.
The renewed sense of enthusiasm and motivation among teachers and students alike will serve as a catalyst for positive change and growth within the education sector.
