As part of the government’s efforts to leverage technology advancement in education, He joined President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Monday, March 25th, 2024, to inaugurate the Ghana Smart Schools Project.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to enhance the Free Senior High School Programme by integrating technological advancements to empower students on a global scale.
Under the Ghana Smart Schools Project (GSSP), the government will distribute 1.3 million educational tablets to senior high school students, implementing a One-Student-One-Tablet policy. These tablets are equipped with digital content to enrich research, teaching, and learning experiences.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo also assured of the construction of 100 smart schools nationwide which is in tandem with the distribution of educational devices under the Ghana Smart Schools Project.
Thirty of these schools will be completed this year, with the remaining seventy scheduled for completion within the next two years. These state-of-the-art facilities will feature solar panels to promote renewable energy usage, enabling the schools to operate off the national electricity grid.
